Lake Naivasha is a beautiful freshwater lake, fringed by thick papyrus. The dominant wildlife here is the hippo; there are thousands in the lake. There are other wildlife that normally graze and roam around the lake including zebras, giraffes, buffaloes and gazelles. Other wildlife that can be seen are the vervet and colobus monkeys.

The absence of the predatory animals like lions doesn’t take away the whine from the lake. In fact, their absence opens up new opportunities for safaris. You can opt for walking, horse riding or boat safaris across the pelican rich lake.

For the adventurous, the nearby Hells Gate National Park is the perfect spot for off road mountain biking, hiking. Much of the lake is surrounded by forests that abound with bird life, making Lake Naivasha a bird lover’s paradise.
